In the months preceding my move to Amsterdam, I was repeatedly warned by Dutch locals that finding a place to live in and around Amsterdam is excruciatingly hard, more so an affordable and nice place. Unfortunately, the same can be said about finding even short term accommodation in Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a beautifully quaint ancient city with much of the immediate city center dating back to at least the 19th century. This means that there are comparatively few large hotels that not only boast a traditional Dutch character, but also happen to be conveniently located and affordable. If you are looking for neither luxurious pricey accommodation, nor a student hostel, the going can get tough.
Unlike many B&B’s found the world over, CityCenter’s main goal is to make their guests’ stays feel as if they are in their own homes, rather than the homes of the hosts. In addition to all the usual amenities, you will find your room equipped with a fuzzy bath robe, toiletries, tea and coffee, and even a TV and some DVD’s in case you feel like spending an evening in watching TV. Moreover, your hosts will take care to bring your breakfast directly to your room; nor is the breakfast meal the same every day! You will find all the beloved Dutch food staples featured in your diet while at the CityCenter B&B: fresh fruit, warm bread rolls, cheese, ham, eggs, yoghurt and, of course, freshly brewed delicious coffee. Enough praise cannot be heaped on the hosts for choosing the location they did for their Bread and Breakfast: CityCenter is a five minute walk from Dam Square, a ten minute walk from the Jordaan neighborhood, a five minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station, a fifteen minute walk from the Anne Frank House, and a five minute walk from the tramlines to many more exciting destinations.
If you want a warm welcome, a meticulously cleaned and well-equipped room that might as well be your own, a delicious and nutritious breakfast service, as well as a fantastic location for home-base while in Amsterdam – the CityCenter Bed and Breakfast is for you.
