Beauty | Why Tools Are Just As ImportantBeauty | Why Tools Are Just As ImportantIt's all good and well having products that are amazing, but if you don't have the right tools to apply and use in your routine you could be missing out! Let's discuss why tools are just as important as the products you use...
Let's start with a biggie, make-up brushes. Long gone are the days where we would use the spongy applicators and small flimsy brushes that we would receive in compacts, brushes nowadays are just as crucial to application as the product is. Now I'm not saying that you need to go and purchase the Charlotte Tilbury brush pictured above (Thank the lord for Christmas), but investing in a decent set of brushes are definitely worth while. I find the best affordable brushes come from Real Techniques and Zoeva, who both do sets that save you some money instead of buying individuals. Using good brushes will change the way you apply make-up, whether it's applying foundation smoother, blending eyeshadow easier or contouring your cheekbones. Remember to look after your brushes too by performing a regular wash with soap and lukewarm water, dirty brushes are a sod for transferring bacteria.
If you have lashes that don't lift well, eyelash curlers are the way forward. I have the cult Shu Uemura pair and I have to say that they are definitely worth the money. After using other brands and seeing a slight difference, I see an ever bigger difference when using this pair. Eyelash curlers enhance the curl of your lashes and if they are really good ones, they will keep them enhanced after you have applied your mascara and for the majority of your day.
Another tool that it's important to have a good-un of is eyebrow tweezers. Now I don't use mine every day as I like to go for the occasional wax. However, sometimes I leave it a tad too long in-between appointments and need to pluck some of those unwanted strays. Although you really don't need an expensive set of tweezers, it's important that they are sharp and do not go blunt easily. This is purely for the easiness and effectiveness of removing those annoying flicks of fur.
Do you think it's worth investing in decent tools? Which make-up brush brand do you reach for and think are worth the money? Let me know in the comments below, thanks for reading!
