Beauty | Trialling Rodial Makeup

New makeup excites me and as soon as I unpack it, I want to rub it all over my face in an instant. I decided to give some Rodial makeup goodies a go so I could tell you all my thoughts...
I am not going to lie, I had no idea what to expect when using these products. Although I had heard bits and bobs here and there about the brand - I went in with an open mind, erm, face? You can't tell in these photos (thank the lord) but on this particular day of trying the makeup and taking photos, I was a little bit under the weather, with a bright red, Rudolph-like nose. I reached for the Airbrush Concealer (£32) to try and cover it up so that I didn't frighten you all. Despite being in a sturdy compact, the concealer has a very smooth and silky consistency and transfers onto the skin well. I had no issues with blending it in and it gave great coverage to where I needed it. Perfect! I then reached for the Instaglam Contouring Powder (£52) to give my face some shape. Now this product was definitely made for contouring rather than giving an overall bronze as I'm more used to, it is very gray toned which helps create shadow. The compact is big enough to use various size brushes, but I found a fluffy angled brush worked best to help create shape. Be careful not to go overboard however, I went a teeny bit crazy and had to blend it with my foundation brush to avoid looking skeleton like...
I was relatively happy with how my face turned out so after sorting my eye makeup out, I moved onto my lips to bring the whole look together. I'm sad to say that it was at this point I became a tiny bit disappointed. The Lip Scrub (£24) doesn't really scrub at your lips, it has much more of a softening affect rather than something that gets rid of your dead skin. The Lip Liner (£19) didn't add much color at all, despite being a nude shade, I found that it was very slippy and just gave a tiny bit of a sheen to the lips rather than any pigment. Luckily the Glamstick in Crush (£25) saved the day so my lips didn't look completely bare. A really nude, beige shade that glided onto the lips almost like a balm and added a satin finish to the look. Although I do tend to favour brighter shades, this will be great for when I don't feel like going as bold.
So a little mix and match for this Rodial line up, a couple of loves and a couple of misses. Let me know if you've tried any Rodial makeup, apparently it's quite a hit with Daisy Lowe! I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below - thanks for reading!
