After years of using that cult drugstore concealer, I finally found one that worked even better. The LA Girl Pro Conceal works an absolute dream to highlight and add coverage to the areas that need it most. The formula blends into the skin seamlessly and doesn't crease, I can't remember the last time I picked up anything else to replace it!
Despite using an every day base, I always struggled to find the perfect foundation to see me through longer days and dancing till 3 am. Then the Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation came into my life and hello, please never leave me! Giving me life through a full coverage and flawless complexion, it's became a real super star of this year's makeup line up.
Early working day mornings have meant I have minimal time to try and make myself look some kinda fabulous. I have loved using theBalm Batter Up Eyeshadow Sticks for a quick makeup fix, a couple of swipes and a rub of the finger and it's viola, finito! They are the ideal in a rush, quick eye look that have insane pigmentation - I highly recommend!
Sometimes I have a bit more time to put into my eyes and that's when I'll reach for some form of palette. I have loads to reach for when I'm looking for shimmers, but for some standard matte shades, Charlotte Tilbury The Sophisticate Palette has been an absolute winner winner chicken dinner!
Ya'll know that I live for the perfect eyeliner flick, it's something I've come to perfect over the years. This year, I have come to love the Lancome Grandiose Liner to keep those wings as precise as possible. Not gonna lie, a little bit on the pricier side of eyeliner, but all in all, it's certainly one to try out if you love your wings!
To match those wings, I'm always in need of a super fluttery set of lashes too. This year, Maybelline's Lash Sensational is the one that takes the top spot. This drugstore gem legit ticks all those boxes, everything from volume to curl, from separation to length. It's going to be tough to find an affordable mascara to beat this pink beaut.
As it always does, my love for perfecting that bronzed look that doesn't resemble a poo streak grows and grows and I think I've just about nailed it. *prays to makeup gods*. The Illamasqua Bronzing Duo hasn't been in my life too long, but it's insane. The blendability of this means your shadow doesn't look too forced, Oh Illamasqua, I love ya.
Blush was never a staple in my routine, but now it is. There's not a makeup day that goes by I don't give myself a rosy flush to stop me from looking zombie-oid. Charlotte Tilbury's Sex on Fire is the perfect neutral rose shade to add color without going all Aunt Sally on my ass.
If I could pour liquid highlighter all over my entire face, I totally would - I completely and utterly live for dat glow. If I don't put highlighter on then I don't feel complete and Sleek's Highlighting Palette in Solstice has changed the game. Don't be put off by the purple and orange shades, this gives some serious angel sent from heaven shimmer.
Finally, we have something for the lips, which I've turned to time and time again. theBalm's Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipstick has been top of the liquid lipstick charts for me. I'm not a huge matte lip lover because ew to dryness and ew to bitty bits, but these lovelies are pretty special and come in super cute colours!
These little guys have been the best selection of 2016 makeup products and I'm sure I'll still love them in 2017! Leave a little comment or hit me up on Twitter with what your faves have been this year, because more makeup is all I need...
