Beauty | The Glow-GettersBeauty | The Glow-GettersBeauty | The Glow-GettersI'm a total advocate to adding glow to the skin; It helps to prevent foundation from looking flat and can perk you up if you're not feeling your best (or hungover, yano). Today I'm listing five of my favorite products for giving your face some va-va-voom!
For the face. For the past year or so I have loved mixing a liquid highlighter in with my foundation to add some radiance to the face. I cannot get enough of Seventeen's Skin Wow Primer (£5.99) mixed in with my current foundation (Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, FYI). It adds a subtle luminosity to the skin without being glittery and is even great by itself on a day where you don't want to wear a full face but need some glow. It goes to show that even though it's labelled as a primer, you don't have to necessarily use it in that way.
For the bags. No matter how much sleep I get and combined with allergies (I'm allergic to EVERYTHING) my under-eye bags are prone to the occasional blow up. One of Benefit's latest releases is great at combating this, their brand-spanking new Puff Off Eye Gel* (£22.50). The little iron applicator (far too cute) works well to cool and calm the under eyes and although it isn't super sparkly, it is great at brightening up the area. It also works as a great base for concealer to go on smoother.
For the lids. Despite being sworn to a liquid eyeliner cat-eye, on a lazier day I love using cream shadows and a slap of mascara. When I am not after a bronzier option, I've been applying Bourjois Colour Edition 24hr Eyeshadows in Floccon d'Or* (£6.99). It is a cool golden-beige which when blended into the lids really creates a beautiful shimmer. Paired with a bright pink or red lipstick it helps in assisting create an effortless, glam look.
For the brows. One of the places that I love a strong highlight is my brow bone, it can really lift the eye area and make you look even more awake. To add that glow I've been dotting the highlighting shade of the MeMeMe's Arch Angel* (£8.50) and blending it in with my finger. The champagne shade adds brightness and helps me get that one step closer to that perfect strong brow (I'll get there eventually).
For the cheeks. When I am not using one of my beloved powder highlights, I'll often turn to the famous NARS Copacabana Illuminator (£22). I used to mix this in with my foundation, but recently I love it as a targeted glow-giving product, especially for the cheekbones and down the nose. It has a stunning pinky-champagne colouring and blends in really well to add a pearlescent lift to wherever you apply it to. I find with it being a liquid product it lasts quite a long time too, which is always a bonus!
So that's my current five most-loved products for adding glow to your complexion. Let me know in the comments below what products you love to use to add some luminosity and if you have tried any of these particular ones out. Thanks for reading!
