Beauty is in the Smize of the Beholder: TYRA Beauty Live Recap

As an ANTM addict, I’ve known for a while that Tyra Banks has her own beauty line called TYRA Beauty. However, I never saw it on the shelves and always wondered why. Did it flop? Turns out, I was all wrong! TYRA Beauty is sold through exclusive “beautytainers” or through her site online.

A few weeks ago Tyra held her first ever live event for TYRA Beauty in Las Vegas and I was invited to attend. Since I had personally never tried any of her products I was sent a box full of goodies to check out. I’ll be honest, even though it was Tyra’s line, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like.

When I opened the boxes I fell in love with the packaging design of the products. If you have great packaging I’m always going to be willing to want to know more. The theme was mostly gold and black but everything look so nice and sleek.

Now to the actual application of the make up. The stick products had a nice rounded ball top which literally glides across your skin like butter. My eye shadow in a stick came damaged so sadly I wasn’t able to try it out though. The sculpting stick was nice but the highlight stick sold me. It shimmered my skin like a diamond and I was eating it up! The blush stick I was skeptical of because I’ve never had a good experience with one before. Thankfully you can blend it really easy once on your skin though and I’ve used it multiple times trying it out. I’m no longer scared of stick blushes now! lol

The lipstick and lip pencil were GORGEOUS and lasted 8+ hours of wear which I was extremely impressed with. The lip glosses come in different shades with a hint of color which for me really stands out on my lips however when my sister tried them they were really light. I did really like them and they lasted incredibly long as well but I would definitely say the pigment is different for everyone. The lip plump is a clear gloss which is nice to have though I’ve never been a fan of the tingling of a lip plump so this may be something I pass to someone else.

Last but not least is the silk extension mascara and the brow pencil. I have to be honest, I struggled with using the silk extensions. Its probably user error but I could not get them to stick my lashes no matter what I did. If any of you have any tips on how to apply mascara like this I would be happy to hear you out! For the brow pencil, well Tyra has nailed it. Her brow pencil is probably the easiest one I’ve ever used in my life. I can shape my brows in a matter of seconds without having to do a million tiny strokes or huge outlines.

So back to the event. We got a chance to chat with Tyra, her mom, and Nyle DeMarco before the event which was awesome! Let me tell you, Tyra is EXACTLY who she is on and off TV. She is incredibly sweet, spunky, and full of encouragement. Its so nice to meet celebrities that don’t put on a front and portray themselves as someone they aren’t.

After being escorted to special seats for the event we got to witness the chaos of excited Tyra fans rushing into the room to grab a seat as quickly as they could. As we waited for the even to begin, I chatted a little with some local media outlets as well as other influencers like Patrick Starrr and Brendan Jordan.

Tyra’s passionate for her business pours out like the ocean when she speaks. Though I’m not in the position to sell her products, I am and will continue to be a happy customer. I could go on and on about her whole TYRA Beauty Live event but I think saving it to experience for yourself is worth it.
