Playing with color is not something I often do with my makeup, especially not on the eyes. I had seen a lot of people using beautiful purple hues so I thought that I would give it a whirl.
I was tempted to use the Naked 3 palette, but there just wasn't anything 'purple' enough for the look I wanted to create. Then I remembered that in my eyeshadow palette stash I have the Revealed 3 (£10.99) palette by Coastal Scents which houses a lot of purple and berry tones. It was my first time using the palette and I was pleasantly surprised at just how beautifully pigmented and blendable the shades were. I used a medium purple and a deep purple and blended them both into the crease and outer v. I ensured that I did lots and lots of blending so that the look was seamless.
For the gold, I knew that I wanted to use Fix+ to make a shade really pop on the eyelid, which is something again, I'd never done before. After looking at various gold shades in my palettes I decided to use my Urban Decay Naked 2 (£38) where I used the shade Half Baked, a beautiful gold. I will definitely trying this technique more often to make shadows more pigmented. For the lips I used Charlotte Tilbury in 'So Marilyn' (£23) and topped it off with Tanya Burr's 'Vampire Kiss' Lipgloss (£6.99). Looking back I probably should of picked a deeper red but hey ho, it's all a learning process.
I am obsessed with this eye look and am going to combine it with a more plum look next time I wear it. Let me know what beauty trends you love for this time of year and what you think of this look.
