There is a time for a full face of makeup, and there is also a time for a little less, now is that time. I thought I would show you the products I reach for when I want a less-than fancy face…
You are probably sick of hearing me say the words University, but all the stress and drama has made me take a step back with my makeup routine. Early mornings and long evenings in the library typing away at my laptop has made me make minimal effort when it comes to my appearance, and for that, I am not even sorry. I have been taking the majority of products out of my routine so that I can roll out of bed after having that extra half an hour, take ten minutes applying a bit of slap and get myself on to the grind. So here is what I’ve been using.
A light base is completely necessary for me to feel a bit more relaxed when I’m wearing makeup as I don’t feel like I have a foundation caked onto my face. The Dior BB Crème is light enough to feel airy on the skin yet covers everything that you feel needs covering, a perfect lightweight base that requires minimal effort. I’ll then work the Soap & Glory Archery waxy pencil through my brows to create something that’s natural yet defined. Considering I’m in love with my DipBrow Pomade (review here), this is so much easier to use when you want something quick.
My mascara of choice recently isn’t a well-known one. My Great Auntie actually picked this Mally Volumising Mascara up from QVC and it is actually rather good, it adds a lot of length and volume and generally looks beautiful on the lashes. Then it is time to add some color into the skin so I’m not looking super duper flat faced and one-dimensional. Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer adds the perfect tone to the skin so that it looks healthy and it smells like chocolate – which is kind of painful when you have gave it up for lent!
To finish the look off I’ll dust a little bit of my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder to add a glow to the face. The powder is so finely milled that it doesn’t leave a powdery look to the skin so it’s a great one to throw in your handbag. For a little bit of colour, Rimmel’s lipstick in Asia is definitely a dupe of the infamous MAC Brave, a nude-y pink that is great for everyday wear.
So that’s what I’ve been popping on for those days when everything is just a little bit more on the chill side. Let me know in the comments what your go-to products are for an easier makeup look…
