Cream eye shadow pots remain on top for me, they are little pots of glory that create a whole look with simply one product. I find the best way to apply these is by first using a finger as it seems to get the best pigmentation onto the immediate lid, I find that patting the color into the center gives a really intense finish. I’ll then take a fluffy brush and work some more of the product into the crease and to diffuse the color in the centre, creating a seamless finish. I love using Charlotte Tilbury’s Eyes to Mesmerize in ‘Jean’ to brighten the eyes as it’s a stunning champagne-gold shade, whilst the famous Maybelline Colour Tattoo in ‘On and On Bronze’ creates an effortless smoky eye.
I am also in love with eye shadow sticks as they are great for when you are on the go and need to top up if you are going from day-to-night. You can apply straight from the bullet, meaning no messy fingers, and the colours are usually buildable. Whether you are after a simple wash of colour, or something really popping on your lids, sticks are a great option. I usually use a dense brush to blend the pigmentation out, as sticks can be a little trickier to get that seamless edge. I’ve loved using the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in ‘Amber Haze’ for a great light golden sweep of color. But for something intense, I love theBalm’s Batter Up Sticks – the pigmentation is insane and they beautifully last all day long – obsessed!
As much as I love my powder palettes like my Urban Decay Naked ones, I’m opting for a cream version as of late! Let me know in the comments below what type of formula is your favourite, and if you have tried any of these beauties out!
