UK band Bear Cavalry, a quartet from Gosport, have found a way to mix African create beats with synth pop, a dash of prog and joyous trumpets. They have just released the Maple Trails EP. With falsetto vocals and pretty good harmonizing they stand out in the flood of indie hopefuls.
The prog bit is most prominent their lyrics, with a tangent for weirdness, geek stuff and fairy tales. Maple Trails is just-in-time for the hipsters crowd for their best of 2011 lists.
