Pop up markets always instill such an excitement in me: perhaps its the serendipity that you find something that's in your perfect size or preference in this limited time, or perhaps that pop-ups tend to curate some of the best under-the-radar, artisan brands. I had the pleasure of being invited to experience the largest pop-up market of the year, and boy did I have a blast shopping to my heart's content!
Some of the fashion labels you can expect are Singapore's favorite designer child: Max Tan, Ying the Label, Yacht21, and more! For a good deal, do check out Korean fashion line Headlines Seoul, which features some great statement pieces at discounted prices! If you love all things vintage, walk to the back end for a compendium of stunning designer and retro apparel from yesteryear...all in great mint condition! And guys aren't left out either, SixEmpire offers on-trend street styles that's perfect for our climate.
Like a magpie drawn to glittery, there are tons of droolworthy accessories to choose from: these beautiful leather beaded pieces for Latched is perfect to stack with your armcandy; while sharp, edgy necklaces by local designer Mandy Wu will definitely lend street cred to a simple outfit. Also loved the quirky geometric. enamel pieces from Curious Creatures! For timepiece lovers, you have got to stop by Naked Glory's booth for some stunning gold and silver chronographs. And for those looking to break out of conventional jewellery; how about these knitted necklaces pieces from ItTakesBalls?
Well duh! I of course HAD TO make a beeline to the beauty section. One of the special things I found are these yarn-wearing soaps from Simply For Love; which are formulated to be soft enough even for eczema-prone skin! Plus, how can you resist their super cute designs! And if you love all things aromatherapy, don't miss out Mint & Eve! They have a nice range of scents which includes 3 different types of Lavender. And since I love organic beauty products, Aussie label Botani is perfect with its all natural ingredients coupled with the expertise of its naturopath/herbalist founder (plus I love that they are anti-animal testing!)
Plus there are some really gorgeous things to pick up for home; whether its for your own or as a perfect house-warming gift! Flipping Notes offers some beautiful handmade paper/fabric round bouquets that make for great wedding touches; and comes also in diffuser styles for home use. Next, I had a hard time getting Ben out of these bean bag lounge seats from PIMP, who happily fossiled in their oh-so-softness while waiting for me. If you love a touch of green at home, then do check out Green Bananas for the latest craze of terraniums (mini gardens) encased in creative glassware; as well as Crafted Assembly's quaint potted plants!
Last but not least, don't miss out the Book Exchange Corner, where book lovers can trade their prelove reads for new ones in a fun way! Wrap them up at our wrapping station and leave a personal note about the book for the next owner and pick up someone else’s pre-loved book as well.
