Bay Kee Gives Us a New Track ‘Red Rover’ [Premiere]

Bay Kee, the solo project from New Jerseyan Christine Spilka, mixes an innocent-sounding and youthful vocal tone with a “lost innocence” vibe. The coda at the end of the track “Red Rover” is a perfect example of this contrary combination: “Red Rover oh Red Rover / my grip gets tight as you get closer / Red Rover oh red rover / a break from me will fall it over”. The overall feel of this mix is airy, intriguing and intimate.

Pairing herself with Dominick Knowles on drums and percussion, she wrote the album in Princeton and recorded it in Brooklyn. This premeire of “Red Rover” comes from her first full-length album Wonder Wild, which drops on January 11th.
