A bathroom is often looked as an ideal place of serenity, where you can let your hair down and unwind from your busy day. For those ladies who are married and have children it’s a space where most mommies go to escape the pitter patter of little feet who aimlessly follow them around like young baby ducklings and to have some alone time even if it is for a brief moment.
I’ve always had a particular fondness, maybe even a weird obsession with bathrooms. Simple or extravagant statement pieces can reflect the personality of the owner. Scented candles in a bathroom for those romantic liaisons with that special someone will surely bring the fire, just enough to keep him coming back for more. And the same statement holds true for men, I once dated a military man whose bathroom was always immaculate, needless to say I began to wonder if he had a maid prancing through there from time to time!
Greenery or a flower arrangement can make your bathroom exquisite and more inviting. Try mirrors of all shapes and sizes, unusual lighting with a hint of color, any additional item can transform the mundane into someone else’s Bathroom Envy!
For those of us who remember what home decorating was like back in the day, can agree with what Grandma always said; “Your bathroom should be special, visitors notice everything.” Of the many wonderful traditions passed down from previous generations of women, I think keeping my bathroom bright and welcoming may be my best piece of advice. ~Dakota
