Bathing Suit Trend Predictions for the Next Five Years

By Swimsuitsdirect @Swimsuitsdirect

Bathing suits change just as quickly as everything else in the fashion world, so there is always something new and exciting to check out. If the last five years of swimwear fashion has taught us anything, it is that bathing suits are just going to become more diverse, more exiting, and even more fashionable. What does the next five years hold for swimwear? Here are a few predictions that we might see in the next five years.

More Vintage Glam

Swimwear inspired by the style of past decades has been one of the best things to happen to bathing suits in recent memory. We would love to see more features like these on suits in the future:

·   Tattoo-flash inspired patterns

·   Pin-up girl style bikinis and one pieces

·   Gingham, checks, and stripes in fresh, summery colors

·   Retro color combinations

More Sizes and More Styles for Every Body

The world of plus size fashion has made some big steps forward in swimwear. Designers are thinking more critically about the cut and coverage curvy sun worshipers actually need. Hopefully this trend continues and helps make a greater variety of sizes and styles more widely available. Of course, the needs of some slender women are not always met by styles meant for shoppers with certain bust and hip measurements. With any luck the push towards a greater diversity of styles will help inspire designers to think more creatively about the needs of different customers.

Bold Novelty Patterns

T-shirts, throw pillows, bedding, and leggings are just a few of the articles that have seen an invasion of bold, novelty patterns in the past few years. Though swimwear designers were quick to create lots of articles utilizing colorful galaxy prints, the staying power of this particular fashion trend suggests that we will see many more examples in the swimwear section of department stores.

Something for Every Taste

This is a very exciting time in swimwear fashion. We are seeing loads of new cuts, designs, styles, and sizes and hopefully the next few years will give us plenty to look forward to.
