“Baseball Song,” by Matt the Electrician

By Precious Sanders @pdsanders99

I’ve never heard of this guy before this morning, but I do enjoy a good baseball tune when I come across it.  I’ve posted the lyrics also, since it can be a bit difficult to make out what he’s singing at times.  Enjoy!

On opening day
No one will say
“The country’s gone to hell in a hand basket”
’cause if it’s just you and me
section 0-3
with a beer and a polish sausage the size of a Buick

Don’t say it’s tired
Don’t say it’s old
It doesn’t matter
Sunshine or cold
There’s nothing wrong
If the game goes long
‘Cause I’m sticking around ’til the final inning

There’s nothing better
Than sitting out in center field
It’s noon and you’re drunk like it’s midnight
Eleven runs down and there’s no one around
We’re doing the wave, just the two of us

Don’t say it’s tired
Don’t say it’s old
It doesn’t matter
Sunshine or cold
There’s nothing wrong
If the game goes long
‘Cause I’m sticking around ’til the final inning

Veni vidi vici
Oh, there’s nothing left to do
Parking lot’s empty, so i hand my keys to you
and though the night is long
and sometimes never win
every town will see you fall…in love…again.

Don’t say it’s tired
Don’t say it’s old
It doesn’t matter
Sunshine or cold
There’s nothing wrong
If the game goes long
‘Cause I’m sticking around ’til the final inning
Yeah, I’m sticking around ’til the final inning…
