Bangalore to Mysore – A Fun Road Trip

Posted on the 24 November 2017 by Cheekymeeky

For the curious traveller, the road trip to Mysore is a fun route full of cultural and natural experiences. Many travellers are negotiating the Bangalore to Mysore taxi fare by choosing rented cars, so they can freely explore the countryside while heading to the main destination - the city of Palaces.

Bangalore to Mysore - En-Route Attractions

Bidadi is a popular stop on the route from Bangalore to Mysore, boasting the Innovative Film City which houses a wax museum and more. The rocky boulders and granite formations of Ramanagara, which falls en-route on the way to Mysore, are a haven for rock climbers and adventure seekers. Channapatna provides another delightful detour on the road trip to Mysore - the town is famous for its wooden toys and a heritage winery close by. For a snack break, the village of Maddur is famous for its vadas. Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a great place to catch some rare species. Just outside Mysore, one can visit Srirangapatna and visit Bailey's dungeon and the garrison cemetery, amongst many other highlights that showcase Tipu Sultan's legacy.

City of Landmarks

The en-route attractions are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to experiences. Mysore city is a cultural extravaganza in itself. Its markets are worth getting lost in, as one can find treasures of silk, sandalwood and more. The centrepiece of this city is no doubt, the residence of the royals - the Mysore Palace. The Jaganmohan Palace, which houses an art gallery, is another example of the architectural splendour of Mysore.

The city of Mysore loves its open spaces. A drive to the Brindavan Gardens is always recommended, where landscaped groves and lawns blend with gentle water bodies and musical fountains. Mysore Zoo and the adjoining Karanji Lake are other significant landmarks. The Zoo is home to many species from Africa - including lions, zebras and giraffes.

A Base of Adventure

Mysore is also the gateway to the verdant hills of Coorg. One can drive over to Nagarhole National Park and feel the pristine and untamed nature of the region. Bylakuppe is another attraction close to Mysore - a town where one can learn more about Tibetan spirituality and architecture. The drive to nearby Chamundi Hills is also recommended. The temple at the summit is one of the most important religious places in the entire region.

Advantages of Rentals

The journey is always more fun when one has total control of the schedule. Renting a car gives the driver full freedom to explore. Self driving also ensures complete privacy. Business travellers heading off to Mysore too are choosing rentals as an option, as it allows them the efficiency they require. Not just transit from city to city; a rented car also makes those business errands much more convenient, ruling out the dependency on public transport.

Companies like Zoomcar are offering assurances like 24/7 on-road support, adding a layer of security and convenience to the journey. People who choose rentals for their Mysore trip are enjoying the spontaneous possibilities in this dynamic town, a stage for an unforgettable trip.
