Bang On Trend | Matte BarryM*

By Vividwinter

The week’s nearly over. That means it’s time to change my nail polish!!

This past week I tried out one of the new Autumn/Winter BarryM matte nail paints in #336 Burgundy Crush. It’s one of five new colours for the season and if I’m honest, aside from Black Espresso, it’s the only colour I actually like or would/could wear.

I change my polish every week and so in terms of chipping, this formula didn’t hold up. That’s probably because I obviously didn’t want to ruin the Matte effect by putting a top coat over it. Either way, it chipped a lot. I took the photo after wearing it for two days and you can already see chips on the edge of the thumb and index finger. It got worse. By the end of the week I had some fingers with only half of the polish.

Like with most BarryM Paints and Gellies, I used two coats and that initially gave a really nice coverage and finish. If it were’t for the annoying chips I’d say this was the perfect for the season. The photo is very true to colour as a deep purple/burgundy type thing. I found myself matching my lip colour to my nails and accessories too. The colour is the only real positive about this product. After washing my hands twice the matte effect disappeared and it was more shiny than anything. It isn’t very long lasting and certainly Isn’t durable.

(Please excuse the sore on my thumb. Not pretty)

The other shades are:

Black | Espresso

Nude | Vanilla

Brown | Mocha

Light Brown | Caramel

The Matte collection will be available in Superdrug from September 25th, and Boots from October 2nd. I got mine at the BarryM counter in Topshop at Oxford Circus. All of the shops that carry these polishes price them at £3.99.
