In Kerala, it is named undan pori which is made using whole wheat flour or maida. Also, we can make a 1:1 ratio of wheat flour and maida.

The addition of banana and baking powder makes the soft and spongy bondas. If we add rice flour with it, you will get a crispy outer layer and spongy inside.we can prepare this sweet banana fritters using any variety of banana. Whatever variety it is, ripened ones are preferable.

How to make banana bonda recipe:

  1. Puree the fully riped bananas for the measurement of 1 cup banana puree.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of banana puree and ½ cup of jaggery. Give it a quick mix.
  3. Add 1 cup of maida, mix slowly without any lumps.
  4. Now add ¼ tsp of cardamom powder, ½ cup of shredded coconut, and 1 tsp of baking powder.
  5. Mix all together well. Now the batter for bonda is ready.
  6. Heat enough oil to fry bondas, once heated, take a small portion of batter and put it in oil. Do the same for the remaining batter.
  7. Keep the flame medium-low and cook equally on both sides.
  8. Drain excess oil and place it on the plate. Serve hot with your evening tea.
