Ok, so I’m sure you don’t really need another smoothie recipe. But, I have had quite a few requests for mine so here goes.
It only took me 6 months to remember to measure it out for ya!
I love this as a snack or meal replacement if I’m not too hungry. Keep in mind, this recipe makes a lot!!
Lindsay’s Banana-Berry Smoothie yield: 32 oz.
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 C. frozen organic berries (I have found these cheap at costco!)
- 1/2 C. raw milk or whey
- 1/2 C. orange juice
- 1 C. whole plain yogurt
- 1/8 C. raw local honey
- 1 scoop Green Vibrance Green Food Powder
- 2 – 4 Tbs. coconut oil
Other add ins:
- flax oil
- flax seeds (just be sure they are ground well!)
- chia seeds
- vanilla extract
- cod liver oil
- greens – spinach, kale, etc.
- raw pastured egg yolks
- lemon peel
- bee pollen
- stevia
- leftover cut up/overripe fruit
You will notice that I don’t have a protein powder in there. I don’t really like most that I have found in stores, mostly because almost all of them contain soy, sugars, artificial flavors and are super processed. My friend Brian at BrianSpeaks actually sells a raw whey protein powder and I would also feel good recommending this one by Garden of Life. The soy is fermented and the ingredients seem very pure.
However, I don’t really see the need for it unless you are needing an extra dose of protein. It’s pretty expensive so I just use yogurt, whey, raw milk, or raw egg yolks instead.
I hope you love it as much as we do!live well. be well.
