My mind is blown that it is November. NOVEMBER, y'all. Like what? I don't know if it's because I'm back in school or what but time is going by ridiculously fast.
When I first started classes in August, I was struggling with finding balance. BIG TIME. I was consumed with work and school. I declined basically any and all social invitations because I felt like I couldn't not be studying/doing homework. I slowly started breaking down. I found myself going a little bit crazy and wondering how I was going to live like this for 3ish years. I knew it wasn't gonna happen...at least not happen and me stay sane at the same time.
So I decided that it was time to put my type-A skills to work. I sat down and really prioritized the tasks that I needed to get done + the time that I had available to get them done. I'm still no pro, but I've been making an effort to use my time wisely. And I'm so relieved to say that I feel like I have a really good balance going on.
I'm getting all of my homework/studying done, my workouts in, working full time, and finally making time for fun things, too:
Like carving pumpkins.
This is one of my favorite fall activities and even though we had to do it on a week night and fairly late (for me) I was not going to skip out! And yes, I'm wearing a sweater in 88 degree weather #floridaprobs
And going to Taylor Swift on Halloween.
Obviously I had to rock red lips in her honor. You better believe it was absolutely mind-blowing! That girl's got some talent and she sure knows how to put on an amazing show! It was my first "pop" concert and it was so different from a country concert or heavy metal show.
And celebrating my sweet pup's 3rd birthday!
Our first pup, Buck, turned 3 today! How sweet is he?! You guys, the obsession that I have with our dogs is REAL. And I have NO shame at all. Harley's birthday is later this month so expect another puppy + cupcake picture soon ;)
What I'm getting at here is how important it is to ENJOY life. The big things, the little things, the every day things. I'm the type of person who gets very wrapped up in the destination and sometimes forgets to enjoy the journey. But what's the fun in that? Sure, you might be super productive, but is it worth it to miss out on making memories? (No, the answer is no).
So make sure that you take time to enjoy the journey. Find balance. Figure out how to get work + school + whatever else done without giving up play. I promise you won't be sorry (:
