Baguio Food Tour 2013: Choco-late de Batirol
Baguio is a city atop mountains, dubbed as the Summer Capital of the Philippines. A year round winter atmosphere makes Baguio as one of the favorite destinations among local and foreign tourists. It is a symphony of awesome people, tourist attractions and of course heavenly foods - making the city now in the country’s gastronomic map. So that’s our mission, together with my 9 travel blogger friends from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao we traveled way up to Baguio to unveil the best restaurants in the city.
It was one of those ordinary mornings in the City of Pines, cold breeze freely touched our skin, we even deliberately and repeatedly talking to each other for a smoky vapor were coming out from our mouth, it was a lot of fun. Feels like we were characters in Korean drama.
A 12 degree Celcius is peculiar to me. To compensate our chilling body from demise temperature we headed to the Choco – late de Batirol to have a hot cup of their traditional chocolate de batirol. It is located at the Gate 2 of Camp John Hay and is near at the Igorot Park.    Baguio Food Tour 2013: Choco-late de Batirol
We were welcomed by the manager and showed to us how to make the famous choco-late de batirol which came from the finest local beans. And if you’re wondering what batirol is, it is actually the rod – liked instrument used in making the chocolate drink by rolling it from your both hands inside the pot. They poured the cacao paste, milk and pinch of additive aromatic flavor in the bronze pot.
