Bad Bad Hats Laugh It Off In ‘Shame’ [Video]

Minnesota trio Bad Bad Hats, led by the charming Kerry Alexander, just put out their first full-length, Psychic Reader, on Afternoon Records this summer, and they’ve followed up that sparkling debut with an accompanying video for the song “Shame”. The track, a crunchy ditty about knowing what’s good for you, is already one of the highlights of the brilliant Psychic Reader, but the video takes a spin for the delightfully surreal. Reenacting the classic meme “Woman Laughing Alone With Salad” at landmarks around Minneapolis, Alexander snaps selfies with lettuce, smokes a carrot like a cigarette, and saunters around, bowl in hand, without a care in the world. It’s lo-fi and nonsensical, but somehow it fits the song perfectly — one wink at the camera from Alexander and you feel like you’re in on a hilarious joke with a close friend.
