Following up on my coverage of Cynthia Rowley's groovy Spring 2015 presentation, here is a peek at the backstage beauty. Makeup artist Daniel Martin's muse was iconic British singer Marianne Faithfull with a downtown twist and he termed the look "broken" as if the models had slept in it the night before. The striking eye look was created using Cynthia Rowley Beauty's stunning new color-blocked Game Face Eyeshadow Palette (available only at Birchbox on October 8). He defined the top lash line with the Mini Eye Liner Pencil in Black and went over it using the deep charcoal shade called Knockout. To build the "chunky lashes", Daniel and his team used individual false lashes followed by several coats of mascara. He muted the lips with W3LL People Narcissist Stick Foundation before applying Cynthia Rowley Beauty's Creamy Lipstain in Sugar for a subtle nude pink pout. The brows were kept natural and a shimmery vanilla shade called MVP was used to create soft highlights on the brow bones and cheeks. John Barrett of the John Barrett Salon created modern and textured hair looks to complement the modernity of the collection. The futuristic looking styles called for a good deal of twirling and teasing using John Barrett's Be Healed Styling Mask and Shu Uemura's Essence Absolue Cream in Oil for volume, shine and control. There was also plenty of hairspray going around. Color Club was on hand to provide glossy neutral colored manicures matched to the models' individual skin tones to keep the focus on the clothes.

The hair might be a little difficult to pull off but I find this makeup look to be quite pretty and wearable. What do you think?

Special thanks to Birchbox, the exclusive backstage sponsor of the show for this insider's view.
