Packing lunches for school everyday can be a challenge. Especially when the teachers send home the leftovers and you can see how much your kid did or didn’t eat. I’m always looking for new ideas to pack because I want to make sure he’s getting all of the nutrients he needs. So I’ve learned to make it fun and be creative in how and what I pack. The more fun, the less food I get back at the end of the day
While brainstorming for fun ways to pack my toddler’s lunch, Monster Munch was born! He loves Quaker Chewy bars so to make it more fun, I turned them into monsters. Or robots. Or aliens. Whatever your kid may say these are! I picked up all of the supplies at Walmart and went to town creating monsters!
Supplies:
Quaker Chewy Bars
Foil
Stickers
Glitter card stock paper
Glue stick
Sharpies
Directions:
1.Wrap the Chewy bar in foil and tuck each end over.
2. Cut horns, hair, whatever out of glitter card stock.
3. Add a small amount of glue and place horns to stick out on each side. Fold foil over.
4. Apply stickers and draw nose, mouth, etc.
And that’s it! Super simple but your kids will think it’s really cool when they open their lunchbox and see a monster staring back at them
If you’re in a bind, just stick to the foil and eyes. Kids are simple and they’ll think something simple like that is fun too. I’m also thinking of sending a box of these monsters with him on the first day to pass out to his friends.Back to school is a super exciting time for kids (and parents), and the more fun you can make it, the more memorable it will be for your kids. By providing them with a nutritious breakfast and lunch, you are setting them up to succeed and have a great learning experience at school.
How do you keep your kids entertained with their lunches? Do you do fun things with their food? I need ideas!
