'Shravani Mela', the month-long festival celebrated during the holy month of Shravan at Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar will not take place this year.
The High Court issued an order today, 3rd July 2020, for not conducting Shravani Mela as well as Kanwar Yatra due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
The Court also ordered the government to conduct 'Online Darshans' of the pujas to take place throughout the month, keeping in mind the spirit of the devotees. The 'E-Darshan' will start from the very first day of the holy month of Shravan.
Over the past few months, COVID-19 has turned our lives upside down and has drastically changed our lifestyles and routines. With other aspects like groceries, payments, and work, it looks like religious services will also be moving into the online space.
