Ayami and Teiko

Today is the day!

Ayami and Teiko

We turn twenty only once, isn’t it?

Ayami and Teiko

Memories of this day have to be conserved…

Ayami and Teiko

… many memories …

Ayami and Teiko

… and of course shared!

Ayami and Teiko

We then visit the Temple to take a peek on our future …

Ayami and Teiko

and if we pick bad luck, we leave it bound to the gates.

Ayami and Teiko

Sometimes we dream for a moment of relax …

Ayami and Teiko

… but we have to keep movin’on: our adult age has just started!

This fictional story of Ayami and Teiko is to illustrate the turnin’20 of Japanese girls, who then wear colorful Yukata through the streets of Kyoto and Tokyo to celebrate the event. Click to zoom in and remember how your 20s were… or will be! This photo series is part of the reportage Japan of mine.
