There are a lot of video game inspired board games out there, but I think nobody made a board game inspired by a first-person shooter, until now. Valve has mashed one of their most popular games ever made, “Team Fortress” with classic chess to make the ultimate modernized Chess set ever. They call it “A Team Fortress Game of Chess.”
Believe it or not this is actually an official set that comes from Valve, in collaboration with WizKids. It features “swappable hats that bring Team Fortress 2 to Chess,” which means you get a chance to change characters of this set to modify the game in any way you want.

This nerdy Chess Set will be available in Q4 2013 via Think Geek and the Valve store. The price of this set hasn’t been revealed yet, although one thing is for sure that it ain’t gonna be free-to-play like the original team-based video game.
