While video games like Call of Duty and Battlefield are getting an endless parade of sequels, gamers are starting get tired of playing those games with the same plot lines and gameplay. This is why I think it’s the perfect time for a change in modern shooting games. H-Hour: World’s Elite appears to be that kind of a change that most of us gamers have been expecting for a long time. This modern tactical, team-based, military shooter comes from the brains behind the popular SOCOM games and aims to take over PC and PS4.

Creative director of the SOCOM games series, David Sears wanted to make this game different from mainstream shooters. He plans to release the H-Hour: World’s Elite as a “core multiplayer experience” with six maps, and  four new gameplay modes. According to the main man, this game is an “experience directly inspired by the SOCOM series” and he also states clear that this is not just a past game in a “prettier package”.

“Shooters don’t have to be about long cutscenes or pointless “wow” moments. They don’t need to involve sprinting around constrictive maps and magnetic bullets. They shouldn’t involve overly scripted AI behaviors that are exactly the same every time you play.” David Sears stated on the Kickstarter page. “No, really they should be about connecting on a human level with other players, honoring the contributions of our military colleagues through respect for authenticity, and bringing like-minded people together online to strategize, execute and win.”

Less than 8 days left for this project to reach its’ $200,000 goal. And it’s almost there. Go make a pledge at Kickstarter and help make this game a reality. Check out the video after the jump for more info.
