About Avocado fig smoothie:

Avocado fig smoothie is made with the blend of fresh avocado and fig fruit along with chilled milk and sweetening agent like honey, jaggery or sugar. Avocados give healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. While figs are rich in dietary fiber, antioxidants and other important nutrients. So both avocado and fig make a great healthier combination of making this smoothie.

Avocado cherry smoothie, pear smoothie, avocado dates smoothie, fig banana smoothie, apple banana dates smoothie, black jamun smoothie, mango banana smoothie.

Variations of making the smoothie recipe:

Vegan option: For vegans, use plant based milks or almond milk or coconut milk, or oats milk etc.,

Sweetener : Avocado is not sweet in nature. Fig is mildly sweet. If you are fine with that sweetness, no need to add any sweetening agent. If you want to add more, add honey or sugar or jaggery.

Ingredients to make Avocado fig smoothie:

Avocado : use good quality ripe avocado and adjust the number of avocado as per the serving.

Fig : I have used fresh figs. If you are using dried ones, soak it in hot water for 30 mins or in normal water overnight.

Milk :  Milk gives a rich and creamier taste to the smoothie. For vegan variation, you can use oats milk, almond milk,soy milk or coconut milk.

Ingredients:

Avocado – 1 no

Fig – 2 to 3 nos

Milk – 2 cups

Honey / jaggery / sugar – as per taste.

How to make avocado fig smoothie:

  1. Cut avocado into two pieces and remove the seed. Scoop the soft inner pulp and add to the blender or juicer.
  2. Then cut washed figs by trimming the top and bottom ends and add to the blender. 
  3. Now add milk of 2 cups or as required.
  4. Blend to smooth.
  5. Add any sweetener of your choice and mix.
  6. Transfer to serving glasses and serve as fresh.

Can we use frozen avocado and fig to make this smoothie?

Yes you can use frozen fruits to make this recipe. Make sure to defrost before making the drink.

What are the substitutes for milk to add?

You can add coconut milk, almond milk, oats or soya milk.

Can we add any other ingredients along with the smoothie? 

Yes of course, you can add like for nutty flavor you can add some nuts or greens like spinach or kale for healthier twist and more ingredients. Totally i would say avocado and fig combination is versatile to add more nutrients.

How long can we store this fig smoothie?

I would recommend consuming it immediately. If you have left overs or you packed it for the office, you can consume it within 8 hours. Shake well before drinking as separation may occur.
