The cable channel will air a television movie on Saturday, which features Plaza as the voice of viral video superstar Grumpy Cat.
Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever tells the story of a little girl whose festive wish for a companion brings the sarcastic feline into her life.
Speaking to USA Today, Plaza hinted that she has already come up with an idea for a sequel.
"Well, I've already pitched them, and I think it actually made it into the [Christmas] movie, too," she said. "I pitched them the sequel Grumpy Cat's Worst Vacation in Meow-i, which would take place in Hawaii and it'd be like a vacation-gone-wrong kind of movie."
She continued: "I would actually like to be in that, live action. So somehow, I would like to have some kind of science-fiction element where all of a sudden, Grumpy's inner voice comes to life in the form of me.
"Then the two of us have to go on vacation or find a treasure or something in Hawaii, where we're both in bikinis and we're all tan and just having a good time. I think it could be like a big summer comedy, or like a spring break kind of thing."
Plaza went on to acknowledge that she was not particularly familiar with Grumpy Cat before being approached to lend her voice to the movie.
"I didn't know that much about Grumpy Cat before I was offered the movie, but I very quickly educated myself and learned a lot about this famous Internet meme sensation," she said.
Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever airs on Saturday (November 29) at 8pm ET on Lifetime.
