It happened that Amanda and I saw American Hustle on the afternoon before the evening that it claimed several of the high profile awards at the Golden Globes. I am just the kind of pretentious prick who loves to mock things that everyone else loves, so you know I'd pan it if I could think of any plausible line of attack. But that would be perverse.
Highly recommended, even if you're pretty sure you have no interest in the Abscam scandal, the United States of America circa 1980, or a "comedy" with no moral center on account of the way it elicits sympathy for a guy with bad hair and a big gut who is on the wrong side of the law.
