Assiniboine Forest, Winnipeg, Canada

Posted on the 13 February 2018 by Cendrinemedia @cendrinemedia

After the abandoned farm and Spruce Woods Provincial Park, let me show you another jewel of Manitoba: Assiniboine Forest.

A friend brought me there a couple of years ago, and it was love at first sight for me!

Assiniboine Forest is divided into four main family-friendly trails. It boasts aspen and oak trees, 200 species of plants, and a great variety of animals, among which the white-tailed deer (even though I haven't seen any yet). There are a lovely pond and marsh where you can catch birds, especially waterfowl. Finally, the prairie section also offers interesting sights.

Overall, Assiniboine Forest spans 287 hectares. It is one of the largest urban nature parks of its kind in Canada.

I have taken many photos of the area. I will publish the best of them over the next couple of weeks.
