As I Am - "High On Life" (Simple Sunday Song #4)

Posted on the 08 October 2013 by Oh So Fresh! Music @OhSoFreshMusic

In case you missed my post from last week, As I Am is ready to release his debut album, Simplicity, October 27, and leading up to its release he's doing a free song series called "Simple Sunday Songs." Every Sunday, he's been dropping a new, non-album song for free download. Last week I caught you all up with the first three songs and now I've got number four for you. The song is called "High On Life" and it has nothing in common with any of the three songs he's released so far except that it's completely different from anything he's ever released.
"High On Life" is a nine-and-a-half minute, psychedelic journey that will make you ponder the very essence of your existence, while also making you laugh and massaging your ears with some of the best distorted sonics you've ever heard. It is definitely a trip, but then so is life. It samples this obscure YouTube video by experimental filmmaker/musician/body builder Frank Yang. You'll also here As I Am quote Outkast, mention consciousness, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Jay Electronica, Jesus, Buddha, and Elvis. If your interest isn't peaked yet, this is also the best-sounding song As I Am has ever made production-wise, with the help of Four Floors Of Whores once again. Listen and download the new song below.
