Day Two at Art Takes Miami was another rainy day, but we were ready to go. I will admit that I started the morning with a little V8 after a late night dancing, but I was still excited to see the art in Miami.

Our visit for the day was at Aqua Hotel Galleries. What a great idea they have here and this is opened year-round, so I'm sure to go back and visit. They took an old hotel and turned it into a set of galleries. Each retired hotel room is a different gallery. It is not artists studios similar to what I've been in the last few years, this is actual galleries with curated works from artists all over the world. I was enthralled with the art here and we spent a good bit of the day here.

My paper crafting friends will find this interesting and exciting. These are quilled pieces attached to canvases. You can see some finer detail and close up below.

Almost makes me want to roll some paper. 😉

I could stare at this piece all day. It really spoke to me and I can't quite figure out why except for the fact it is lovely.

Look at the light coming through in this almost gloomy painting. Maybe that is the interest for me.

Carved crayons in bottles.

I adore this woman's work. Her name is Jennifer Hirshfield. I wanted to meet her but kept missing her between galleries.

Look at this amazing texture and colors she uses. I love how she uses her dried paint bits too!

I was surprised by how much glitter I saw in paintings throughout the weekend.

I wish you could see this piece in person. A picture can do it NO justice at all. Layers and layers of lovely paint to build up a beautiful texture and finish. This artists name is Vivian Wolvitz.

This was interesting how the artist combined old and new in one snapshot photo.

More glitter.

Hey, I found a tiny travel trailer art!

These boards were painted, covered in tape, and airbrushed. Very cool effect.

A little detailed shot.

A painted and altered chair. Yep, little TV screen in the chair. Would be hard to sit in it and watch TV though.

This wasn't the only Star Wars art I saw throughout the weekend.

After last night's late night out added to the dreary wet day and overload of art stimulation, we decided to call it a day and enjoy some time in the hot tub. It was good to have some down time and refresh before going back out again the next day. Tomorrow, I'll share Scope! As I said previously, each day just got better.
