Polish artist Karina Smigla-Bobinski has teamed up with German artist Bodo Korsig to make a sphere of arrows called Pfeilschaften, which means “Arrow Machinations” in German. The installation is made up of over 200 arrows that are scattered throughout; on the walls and doors of the exhibition rooms. The sphere is an outward explosion of arrows and a magnetic epicenter drawing the long, black darts in, resulting in a sculptural sphere known as Morning Star.
The piece is part of a group exhibition titled gast.freund.schaft at TUFA in Trier, Germany. The show features five German artists, each collaborating with a European artist from another country with the intent of presenting European relations following a “Euro Visions” theme. “Europeans love to stay among themselves, indulging in EU regulations and seal themselves together to the outside.”Gast.freund.schaft is currently showing at TUFA through June 9, 2013.
