Around the World: South Africa - Chocolate Bars Round Up!
I have to admit that I wrote this review a few months ago now but never got round to finishing it properly and posting it! All of these chocolate bars were bought from a great little shop called The Savanna which is located in Liverpool Street Station in London (they also have a few other locations around the capital), which specialises in African groceries and snacks. I bought three chocolate bars in total, all produced for the South African market; Cadbury Tempo, Cadbury Lunch Bar, and the Nestlé Chocolate Log (yes, really!).

The Cadbury Tempo has shortcake biscuit pieces and a layer of hard caramel. This would be a great bar if the Cadbury chocolate here tasted like Dairy Milk. Unfortunately it has a slightly weaker taste which is not as moreish. However, this was still my favorite of the three and is definitely worth a try if you see it. 7.5 out of 10.

The Cadbury Lunch bar, these are actually available in the World Food section of some Tesco stores.

It's a great big bar in size and is packed full of ingredients to match. The central wafer biscuit is surrounded with caramel, crisped rice and peanuts, all covered in a milk chocolate. It's a bit like a Lion Bar with added bite - this is definitely one for big appetites! 7 out of 10.

Could there be a worse name for a chocolate bar? I'm guessing it doesn't have the same connotations in South Africa that it has here! This was a really strange bar too, an odd combination of marshmallow and wafer.

The marshmallow was a bit bland and had a drier texture then I was expecting, but the wafer had a good crunch and crispy flavor. However, the chocolate was disappointing, far too waxy and not enough decent chocolatey flavor here. I didn't really enjoy this bar at all.  3 out of 10.
If you've tried any of these bars before and agree or disagree then I'd love to hear from you in the comments below!
