I was lucky enough to receive a wonderful parcel of snacks and chocolates from the lovely Marin in the Netherlands. Getting to try different products from other countries is my favorite part of blogging, and that's certainly the case with this sweet selection. I have to admit I didn't know a lot about the brands and products available in the Netherlands and I was very excited to see what was inside.
Verkade Chocodromen Sticks Extra Crispy: These chocolate sticks look so delicious! The box is a similar size to that of Cadbury Fingers, with an inner tray filled with very chunky and crispy looking chocolate biscuit sticks. I'll have a review of these soon!
Lays Oven Crispy Thins Emmental Cheese: It's always interesting to see what the Lays (basically the Walkers brand) is up to in other countries. This was a great pick by Marin, and it's exactly the type of flavor I would expect to find in the Netherlands. I've never tried the Oven Crispy Thins variety before but they are a cracker-like oven baked snack.
Tony's Chocolonely: I can't quite convey just how massively chunky this bar is in my photo above, but believe me, this bar is super thick. It's worth taking a look at the Tony's Chocolonely website as they have a wonderful fairtrade ethos and mission behind their chocolate - there are some great flavours too!
Mini Stroopwafels & Favorina Kruidnoten: A selection of Dutch cookies and cinnamon flavoured biscuits. I love these types of caramel and cinnamon biscuits so I'm looking forward to giving them a try with a cup of coffee!
Nestlé Bros Melk Chocolade & Witte Chocolade: Apparently in the Netherlands, Aero is known as Bros. This is a large milk and white chocolate version and has the classic rectangular shape for Aero chocolate rather than the new Bubbly shaped segments we get here. I'm not sure if the Aero Bubbly White is still available in the UK - it was a Limited Edition last year.
Côte D'Or Kilt Melk: A pack of three super thick and chunky milk chocolate bars - each one is 50g (compared to a Dairy Milk bar which is 36g). Apparently the Kilt Melk is best enjoyed cold from the fridge. I'll certainly be giving them a try cold - they look like they'll be delicious either way! These are made in Belgium by Mondelez for the Netherlands.
Chocolate Praline Eggs: These chocolate eggs with a chocolate hazelnut praline filling are just so adorable - they look just like real eggs! I love the fact that they have such a realistic colouring rather than being pastel coloured, it makes them so unique. They're made for Albert Heijn, a supermarket chain in the Netherlands. I wish we could get something like this in UK supermarkets - I'll be saving this pack for Easter Sunday.
