I'm shockingly ignorant about a lot of things, and as today is a bank holiday in France for Armistice Day, I looked that day up on Wikipedia and found this fine picture, taken in Toronto on 11 November 1918. Not sure if France is having a two minute silence, as they are in the UK, but I know some of the local villages are commemorating it in one way or another.
