CNNArizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Wednesday that she has vetoed a bill that would have allowed businesses that asserted their religious beliefs the right to deny service to gay and lesbian customers.  Opinions have been sharply divided over the politically charged measure, with both sides ramping up pressure on Brewer after the state’s Republican-led legislature approved the bill last week.  Brewer said she made the decision she knew was right for her state.

No shit Sherlock.  Zero percent chance this bill ever passed.  The fact it got so much press is foolish in the first place, because unless Jan Brewer had lived under a rock for the past 30 years or is just straight insane, there could be no benefit for her in letting this bill pass.  I hope that no one applauds her for this because it shouldn’t have even gotten this far.  You know why?  Because who gives a shit if people are gay?  Is there money not good enough?  Does it have less value?  Do they not shower?  Do they wear their clothes on backwards like Kris Kross?  No, no, no and unfortunately, no.  It’s 2014 people, let’s keep it moving.

P.S. Also, news that the passing of the bill could lead to the NFL backing out of the Super Bowl in Arizona a few years from now was probably the nail in the coffin.  No way you turn down that kind of influx of cash into your state just because a couple of conservative douche bags and people who say their religion doesn’t allow them to serve gays.  I’m sure Roger Goddell made a call and basically told Jan Brewer than some place like Houston or Dallas was going to reap the benefits of her stupidity.

P.P.S. From the artice: Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said on his show that Brewer is “being bullied by the homosexual lobby in Arizona and elsewhere” on the measure. - Hey Rush, seems to me you may know a thing or two about being a bully.  How does this guy still make hundreds of thousands of dollars per year?  #mindblowing

P.P.P.S. Also from the article: The Arizona Catholic Conference released a statement urging supporters to encourage Brewer to sign the bill into law.  ”The threats to religious liberty have become very real… S.B. 1062 will help avoid the situations being experienced around the country where businesses are being forced to close because of their owners’ faith,” the organization’s statement read.  So let me get this straight (no pun intended,) business have to close because of their faith?  And that’s the fault of gay people?  So that’s why the bill needed to pass?  Am I missing something?  Sounds like someone had too much blood and not enough body. #catholicchurchproblems
