Are Loretta Fuddy and Ann Dunham the Same Person?

By Eowyn @DrEowyn

3 days ago, I posted criminology professor Dr. Jason Kissner’s fascinating article on Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham Obama Soetoro (henceforth, Ann Dunham), and the late Loretta Fuddy both being linked to the Subud religious cult, which originated in Indonesia and was founded by the Javanese Muslim Muhammed Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo.

My post included a picture of Ann Dunham alongside one of Fuddy (more on this later):

Ann Dunham

Born on Nov. 29, 1942, Ann Dunham supposedly died from uterine cancer on Nov. 7, 1995, in Honolulu, Hawaii, just days short of her 53rd birthday. Her son, Barack Obama, was starting his first campaign for public office in Chicago, Illinois. On some unknown day, Dunham’s body was cremated and the ashes scattered in the Pacific Ocean by Obama and his half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng.

13 years later on Dec. 23, 2008, Obama likewise scattered his grandmother Madelyn Dunham’s ashes in the same spot at Lanai Lookout. Madelyn had died on Nov. 2, 2008, just hours before Obama was elected president. At the time, my friend Mark S. McGrew had wondered what sort of a man Obama must be to wait 51 days before he scattered grandma’s ashes.

How was Ann Dunham linked to Subud?

According to Kissner, ”She was linked to Subud by her biographer (and New York Times reporter) Janny Scott (Harvard ’77) in the book A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mother,” reviewed by the New York Times here.” On page 116 of the book, Scott writes that Ann Dunham invited members of Subud to teach in the business-communications department she established in a private non-profit management-training school in Indonesia.

Loretta Fuddy

Loretta Fuddy came to public notice when, as the director of the State of Hawaii’s Department of Health, she had signed off on Obama’s alleged birth certificate that he, with great fanfare on April 27, 2011, released an image of his long-form birth certificate. Since its release, numerous documents experts have determined the certificate to be a computer-generated fake. Fuddy had assumed the Director position in Hawaii in January 2011, just a few months before the release of Obama’s birth certificate.

Born on April 12, 1948 (according to Wikipedia), Fuddy was 65 years old when, on Dec. 11, 2013, she died — the only one of nine occupants to die — in a small plane crash off the coast of Molokai, Hawaii.

According to Kissner, Fuddy was more than a mere follower of Subud. She had worked her way up the ranks and became chairwoman of Subud USA, based in Seattle from 2006 to 2008. Upon her death, Subud honored her with an official “memorial” page, wherein she is referred to as Deliana Loretta Fuddy. (Deliana is her nickname.)

Going back to the side-by-side pics of Ann Dunham and Loretta Fuddy at the beginning of this post, sharp-eyed readers of FOTM had noted that the visages of Ann Dunham and Loretta Fuddy are strikingly similar — the same nostrils, mouth, eyebrows, and jowl creases.

Another reader asked to see and compare the two women’s signatures.

Below are pictures I found of the two women, as well as their signatures. Only recent pics of Fuddy are on the net.

Are they the same woman?

I don’t think so. You decide!
