Apple rasam recipe - Easy fruit rasam made with apple. It has mild sweetness but not much and the ghee added in seasoning gives a wonderful aroma to this apple rasam. Anything easy and healthy recipe invites me to make frequently. This easy apple rasam is that kind. I simply chopped and added the can peel the skins and add the pulp of apple alone.

How to make Apple rasam recipe:

  1. Soak tamarind in enough water. Meanwhile, chop tomatoes and apple into small pieces.
  2. Dry roast peppercorns and jeera, Make it as a coarse powder using mortar and pestle or mixie. Along with it add the garlic pods and mince along with peeper jeera powder. Reserve this to add later in rasam.
  3. In a heavy-bottomed vessel or wok, add ghee and oil. Once it gets heated, add mustard, jeera, and red chilies.
  4. Add tomatoes and curry leaves. Sprinkle some salt and stir well.
  5. Now add chopped apple and mix well. Let it cook in low flame for 3 to 4 mins till the apple gets cooked.
  6. Extract tamarind juice and add it to seasoned items.
  7. Add turmeric, grounded pepper cumin and garlic powder, salt, and some more water.
  8. Finally, add some coriander leaves and mix well.
  9. Keep the flame high, once the rasam starts first boiling turn off the flame.
  10. Serve with plain rice and accompany with pappad or potato fry.
