Apple Mason Jars

By A Lot On Your Plate @ALotOnYourPlate

Supplies

1 mason jar

1 can of cherry red spray paint

1/2 sheet of green card stock

scissors

raffia ribbon or bakers twine in the color of your choice

Optional: 24 pack of unsharpened pencils

Instructions

1. Thoroughly wash the mason jar. Allow time to fully dry.

2. Remove the lid to the mason jar and put aside.

3. In a well ventilated area, shake the can of red spray paint for at least 1 minute to avoid air bubbles and chunks of paint when applying to the jar.

4. Spray the mason jar with the spray paint (at least 6 to 8 inches away from the jar) and place it aside to dry.  Apply a second coat if desired.

5. While waiting for the jar to dry, trace a pair of leaves on the green card-stock paper.

6.  Cut out the traced leaves and poke a small hole through the top, big enough to run the raffia ribbon or twine through.

Optional: With a black or brown sharpie, write a message or teachers name on the apple leaf tags.

7. Take your raffia ribbon or bakers twine and run through the traced card-stock.  Wrap around the top of the mason jar and tie a knot to secure.

8.  Place the unsharpened pencils in the mason jar.
