Apple Kesari recipe - Kesari is the most familiar sweet we all make for festivals, weddings or for sudden guests as it will take very less time to make and the most authentic recipe too. But how long we make the same plain rava Kesari and get bored? No harm to try with variations isn't it? Yes, we can make with different variety of fruits. I already posted a Mango Kesari recipe. So here I try with another healthy fruit apple. Cubed apple half cooked in water and add with sooji. This is super flavor easy apple sheera recipe, you will never fail at first attempt. I didn't add the food color because I love to see the plain apple Kesari bath with some apple crunches in between.If you want add a tablespoon of saffron milk. It will give mild yellow color to this apple Kesari recipe.

You might notice in many weddings, they serve sweet as fruit Kesari made with pineapple and apple. These two are the best combos. I will post that recipe too ASAP. I have seen people add artificial fruit flavors to these recipes. But I would say no such flavor enhancers needed. Apple itself will give you a perfect taste and aroma.

How to make apple Kesari recipe:

  1. Peel the skin from apple, remove the center part and seeds. Cube them into small pieces. Reserve ½ cup to add.
  2. Place the chopped apple in hot water for a few mins or you can boil for few mins as well.
  3. Heat a strong bottomed pan, add ghee, roast cashews and raisins. Drain the excess ghee and place in a separate plate.
  4. In the same pan, add rava and roasted slightly. Make sure to keep the flame medium low.
  5. Add 1 ½ cups of water and stir. Once the rava gets slightly thicken, add sugar, salt and apple cubes.
  6. Mix and cook covered for a minute.finally add cardamom powder, roasted cashews, and raisins.
  7. Give a quick stir and serve hot.

Notes:

  1. Soak some saffron strands in a tbsp of milk and add it while adding sugar to get a nice yellowish color.
  2. Adjust sugar to taste. And don't miss to add salt, as it is a sweet enhancer and give you a wonderful taste.
  3. You can boil apple in sugar water also. It will give juicy and succulent apples in between.
  4. Don't overcook apples. It will get mashed. We need crunchy cubes of apple.
