Antulang Beach Resort in Siaton

So what’s so cool about Antulang beach resort? Aside from the showbiz scoop that it was the venue where Ryan Agoncillo proposed to Judy Anne Santos, well it’s a nice place to chill out  and get away from the toxicity of city life. A great escape that is perched on top of a cliff that definitely takes effort to get to and also money! It’s a most luxurious place that boasts of different accommodations from steep, steeper to steepest price. We will give you a rundown later.

Our first stop was inside the resort was Waldo’s Bar. Entrance fee (as of April 2013) is P300 with P200 consumable. Since Antulang beach resort is many kilometers away from Dumaguete, we got so hungry during our road trip. We were really looking forward to eating lunch as it was fast approaching noontime. So, we sat down at Waldo’s and ordered Seafood Medley for P290, Cheeseburger at P160, Steam Creamed Dory (which was so delicious by the way) priced at P245 and 1 extra rice P40 (yes, that’s a cup of rice) plus 10% for service charge. So the bill was around P800 minus our P400 consumable deposit, so we only added P400. But still, that’s pricier than what we’re used to!

Okay, we will skip to the good part – food porn! If you want to use their wi-fi connection at Waldo’s Bar it would cost you P100.

Antulang Beach Resort Beach-side Views

There were a few minor differences here and there, the major ones were due to the wrath of Typhoon Sendong. Visibility under water was bad, the waves were big despite the scorching heat of the sun. So, during our visit we did not enjoy the snorkeling part, but we did see a bandit sea snake which we haven’t seen for a while now.

Horseback Riding in Antulang

Horseback riding in Antulang Beach Resort is based on the number of hours per horse. It costs P300 per hour. Back in 2011, we asked for two horses for P600.

This is actually our favorite among the rest! Why, you ask? They have a terrace that faces directly to Apo Island in the horizon. So, can you imagine waking up to a beautiful view! We hope to spend the night here one of these days.

How to Get to Antulang Beach Resort

From Manila
There are 4 daily flights to Dumaguete City Airport (Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines). Transit time is 1 hour.

From Cebu
3 daily trips to Dumaguete City Seaport via Ocean Jet fast ferries. Seafaring time: 3 1/2 hours.

Commuting to Antulang1. Ride a Bayawan-bound Ceres bus, fare (as of April 2013) is P32. Tell the driver or bus conductor to drop you off at the Antulang junction in Mayabon.2. You will see “single” motorcycles there in wait. One way per head for locals is P70, for outsiders P100 / head. Upto 2 persons per motorbike. If you desire a trip back to Mayabon junction, just get their cellphone number, so you can text them when they should pick you up. Travel time is 40 minutes.Driving Your Own Vehicle to Antulang1.
