Antonovich to Renew $10,000 Reward for 2008 Lancaster Killer

Antonovich at Tuesday’s board meeting will introduce a motion to renew a $10,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension and/ or conviction of Jesus Humberto Canales, who L.A. Sheriff’s deputies said murdered his girlfriend Lucy Preciado in Lancaster in 2008. According to the county staff report, Canales stabbed Preciado to death with a sword in her Quartz Hill apartment in front of her children at about 2 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors offered a reward on Sept. 23, 2008, which has expired. The Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau is now seeking reestablishment of the reward to assist with solving this crime, according to the report. The public is encouraged to contact Sergeant Kevin Lloyd or Detective Jeff Leslie of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, 323-890-5500, with any information leading to the capture of Jesus Humberto Canales.
