Antelope Acres Council to Host Special Talks on Environmental Issues Apr. 16

ANTELOPE ACRES – Antelope Acres Town Council will presents special presentations on environmental issues from experts for its Wednesday, Apr. 16 public meeting, taking place 6 p.m. at Westside Community Church, 47707 N. 90th Street, in West Antelope Acres.

— Dr. Gael Lamielle, PhD, is a leading veterinarian for Los Angeles County Public Health. He is a California Epidemiology Investigation Veterinary Officer on a fellowship, and he investigates the origins of diseases in animals. Dr. Lamielle will present information on Valley Fever Effects On Animals, West Nile, and Rabies. Valley Fever affects many species of animals in a variety of ways. He will be addressing the results of fugitive soils/ dust storms from the diseases caused by the inhaling of wind born soil. Residents need to recognize the symptoms and learn what to do.

– Peter McRae is founder (1993) and president of Quattro Environmental, which is a company engaged in sustainable native revegetation, particularly for desert environments. Peter McRae will be addressing the revegetation of barren desert soils as a measure for controlling future dust storms, particularly with a future of possibly ever-increasing drought. His presentation regards moving forward to solve the problems of Solar Array Facilities in desert environments.
