Another Hollyweird Movie to Avoid: “Bad Moms”

By Eowyn @DrEowyn

bad moms

This movie is to be released on July 29th. From Wikipedia, here’s the plot:

“Amy Mitchell (played by Mila Kunis) has a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, over-achieving kids, beautiful home and a career. However she’s over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she’s about to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other over-stressed moms on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities going on a wild binge of long-overdue freedom, fun and self-indulgence – putting them on a collision course with PTA Queen Bee Gwendolyn and her clique of devoted perfect moms.”

Some things to know about some of the stars of this movie:

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis: Kunis supports the Democratic Party and Barack Obama. In a 2012 interview, she criticized the Republican Party, saying: “The way that Republicans attack women is so offensive to me. And the way they talk about religion is offensive. I may not be a practicing Jew, but why we gotta talk about Jesus all the time?”

Kristen Bell: Kristen (a mother herself) is a rabid supporter of Planned Parenthood.

Bell is also a rabid anti-gunner. She ALWAYS tweets nasty words for the NRA, gun owners, and republicans after any gun incident (oddly, she doesn’t tweet about the regular shootings in Chiraq). Some of her tweets:

  • “The @NRA needs mental health care.” (In response to the Sandy Hook shootings.)
  • “Official diagnosis: This country is gun sick.” (In response to the Dallas Police shootings.)
  • A tweet Bell retweeted after the Orlando shootings: “My thoughts and prayers are with the Senators that voted down gun control. My thoughts: do your job. My prayer: you’re voted out of office.”
  • Another retweet of Bell’s: “Ladies, this election cycle you either vote with your vagina or your asshole. #HillaryClinton #DonaldTrump”

And my favorite tweet of Bell’s: “We can all use are voices, but Lets not be disrespectful, immature, & reactive w/out any forethought. None of those things are helping.”

Jada Pinkett Smith and Michelle Obama

Jada Pinkett Smith and Michelle Obama

Jada Pinkett Smith: Smith boycotted the Oscars this year, along with her husband Will, due to a lack of diversity among the nominees. In a video posted to Facebook, Smith said she would not even watch the Oscars on TV this year. Her husband, Will Smith, had been considered an Oscar contender for his role in “Concussion” but was not nominated. “Today is Martin Luther King’s birthday, and I can’t help but ask the question: Is it time that people of color recognize how much power, influence, that we have amassed, that we no longer need to ask to be invited anywhere?” she said.

Smith and her husband are also supporters of Obama.  Earlier this year, the two added their star power to President Barack Obama’s initiative to boost opportunities for vulnerable young Americans. The Will & Jada Smith Family Foundation said it will launch a “Careers in Entertainment Tour” to support Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper Initiative on its two-year anniversary. In keeping with the initiative’s goals, the tour will be aimed at helping underserved high school and college students interested in entertainment industry careers, the foundation said.

Another Hollyweird movie I will not be seeing.
