Mirai Nikki (Future Diary)Aired From: Oct 9, 2011 to Apr 15, 2012 Produced By: FUNimation

Summary: High school teenager, Yukiteru Amano, (Yuki) finds himself in possession of a phone that can tell the future from his thoughts and what he sees. Soon, he meets a girl, Yuno Gasai, who also has a phone with a similar future telling ability. She also happens to be his stalker and soon the two are plunged into a survival game with other diary users in a fight to the death where the winner will take over and become God.My Thoughts: Mirai Nikki is brilliant! It's a wonderful mix between romance, psychological thriller and horror and it plays out very well on screen. I want to give this anime 5 out of 5, but there were a lot of problems going on with the story.

At first, you believe that this is just a romance with a bit of a thriller, but it slowly picks up with a bit of horror and the pacing of it was very slow, but not unenjoyable. You're on the edge of your seat for a long time, but it is good because if the pacing was picked up more, it would've felt forced. There were surprises after surprises and even though the story got out of hand at times, it was entertaining. But it was ridiculously over the top and I had to stop watching it for a while and come back to it.

The art was nothing special, but the animation was fluid and smooth. I really enjoyed seeing all the movement in the show because it was so damn smooth. And the intro, the intro was great! I don't usually watch the intro to animes if I don't have to, but this one was different. The song and the art was interesting to say the least. However, the best part about the show was the characters. This is where the show is the strongest. All the characters are so different and unique and the way they grow as the show goes on is great! However, the best part...THE BEST PART Of the show was the lead protagonist, Yuno Gasai. She's cute, she's smart, she's deadly. Yuno is mentally insane and it's horrible, but you're drawn to her character because she's just so adorable. One minute she is telling Yuki how cute he is and the next she's slitting someone's throat. Sometimes you want her to do something crazy and the next your jaw is on the floor because of what she's done next. Therefore, Mirai Nikki is great and I highly recommend it if you want a change of pace on anime. If you don't like over the top anime, this one just isn't for you though.
