Andrew Wyatt, who you may know more commonly as the lead in Miike Snow, has a lot going on these days. After giving festival goers a sneak peak into his solo work at Way Out West last year, he’s released two lofty singles, “And Septimus…”/”Harlem Boyzz”, given us the full digital and vinyl release of Descender and, just yesterday, put out a brand new, hilariously awkward video. Not to mention, he’ll be performing at the Downtown Festival in New York this Friday alongside a full chamber orchestra!
While the album as a whole is a solid effort, “Harlem Boyzz” is a particularly quirky, memorable track, featuring a catchy falsetto hook and modern day references to “crackheads” and “McDonalds”. As he croons his way through the song, a certain underlying yet permissible arrogance is evident, only adding to Wyatt’s entertaining appeal.
