Amsterdam Halloween Festival: bloody good
Some people believe Halloween started as a pagan ritual that celebrated the dead, while other claim it began as a Christian feast hundreds of years ago. Regardless, All Hallows ‘Eve has become this party combine both cultural and literary symbols like monsters, pumpkins and ghost. We invite you to join ghost and ghouls in a fun-filled procession across town complete with vampires, zombies and bleeding brides in two of the most popular Halloween events in Amsterdam:
The Fox Amsterdam Parade is the largest of its kind in the country and features costumed marchers and dressed up vehicles. It takes place on November 1st, starts at the NZ-line Metro Statin Rokin and ends at Westerpark
The 2014 Amsterdam Halloween Festival is set to serve up 4 days of bloody good Halloween fun!
Amsterdam Spook organizes an annual Halloween party and festival in Amsterdam. Morbidly hanging on to the belief that the event should last longer than just one day, they return with their annual Amsterdam Halloween Festival from 29 October to 1 November 2014! Fueled by an unbridled Halloween obsession, passion for costumes and bloodthirsty desire to create out-of-the-ordinary experiences. A group of major Halloween fans are busy with it all year round. You'll find many parties and events throught the Halloween week organised by the Amsterdam Halloween Festival. A highlight of the 5th annual gore fest is The UNDERWORLD Halloween costume party on All Hallow’s Eve. Setting just the right mood with blood, gore, gashes & prosthetics.
With a list of events longer than Jason’s hit list, you’re in for a packed week of Halloween action, including an especially frightful edition of the Friday Night Skate roller-skate will see costumed Halloweeners skate through the city, an all-night horror movie marathon (Mr Horror’s Halloween Horror Show) in the beautiful Pathé Tuschinski, a themed dinner event in a mystery location and a kid's party and movie event in collaboration with Cinekid.
A highlight of the festival is certainly the annual Halloween Costume Party, which this year takes you beyond the depths of purgatory into The Underworld. Held at Amsterdam’s Hotel Arena, the event is split amongst two main halls and a huge balcony.
The final day of the festival comes to a creeptastic close with 3 events: a kids movie party at the Kriterion, a themed Dinner of Darkness in the Libertine Gallery and an all-night horror movie marathon, the Halloween Horror Show! Check out the full festival programme.
